Renew Your Life: The DMV Experience That Changed Everything
I recently went to the DMV to renew my driver’s license. While I was there, they asked to update a few things, including verifying my address. My old license had my former Tampa address, not my current one in Jacksonville. I didn’t think it was a big deal, since the Tampa address was still my grandfather’s house, and I’d receive any mail sent there.
Curious, I asked the clerk how important it was to update my address. She explained that many things are tied to the address on your license—notifications about canceled insurance, legal matters, or even finding your next of kin in case of an emergency. This got me thinking about how important it is to keep our information current and accurate.
As I left the DMV, I realized this applies to entrepreneurs and high achievers as well. Just like we renew our licenses, we need to "renew" ourselves. So my question is: Have you truly renewed yourself in this new year?
Maybe you're thinking, "Okay Dre, I hear you, but what does renewing myself even mean?" It’s about more than just setting goals—it’s about letting go of the baggage from the past. Did you bring the same limiting beliefs, mistakes, or failures from last year into this one? You might say you’ve left it all behind, but often, those things are still lingering, waiting to resurface.
For example, we have 7-figure earners who work with Client Attraction University, and they too struggle with the need to renew themselves. So, I ask again: have you truly let go of what’s holding you back, or are you still carrying the weight of last year’s challenges?
